Scale approximately 1:28,000,000 (E 20°00ʹ00ʺ--W 165°00ʹ00ʺ/N 80°00ʹ00ʺ--S 12°00ʹ00ʺ). 1 map : hand colored ; 35 x 43 cm, on sheet 38 x 47.5 cm. Relief shown pictorially. Prime meridian: [Corvo]. In the tradition of Visscher and Blaeu, the present map is typically found with city views across the top and bottom and costumed figures at the right and left, a mapmaking style often called cartes-à-figures (map with figures). The present example might be an early impression, which did not include the figures. The map was trimmed to the neatline and the margins extended for framing.
