This folder contains a speech given by Senator Daniel K. Inouye upon receiving an award recognizing his contributions towards the relationship between the United States and Tunisia. In this speech Senator Inouye looks at the economic relationship between the two countries. He then talks about the history of the relationship between Tunisia and the U.S., including the crucial assistance that Tunisia provided for the U.S. due to their location in the Mediterranean Sea. He also mentions ways in which the U.S. provided assistance for Tunisia such as construction, projects and sending volunteers from the Peace Corps.
