Abstract
Description
This folder holds material related to Native claims hearings on various islands in Hawai'i, along with a letter from Queen Lili'uokalani to Grover Cleveland asking for redress, an agenda for the hearings, problems with convincing Congress to allow the act to pass, and the fight for control over power in Hawaiian history. There is also a list of members of the press, and reports from Senator Daniel K. Inouye on the Native Hawaiian Land Claims, which not only looks at how this act will benefit Hawaiians, but also compares this act with Alaskan Land Claims legislation.
