Abstract

Duct tape & aspirin your panacea? Prefer more options by sourcing medical information from the internet? You like to Google it? No problem… learn how to find reliable, trustworthy information from the U.S. National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health, providers of authoritative medical resources with free health sciences databases containing sources that answer consumer health questions to professional evidenced-based medical research. Featured databases will include MedlinePlus and PubMed. Additionally, we will be featuring subscription-based health databases available to patrons of the Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS). Join us as we navigate featured databases and search for selected topics about health. Participate in dialog about what questions patrons are asking at your library concerning health issues, and share your recommended web sources with us.
