Description

This folder holds a memoranda on the power of the President in regards to section 91 of the Hawaiian Organic Act and Executive Order No. 3358. This memorandum also relates to the status of ceded land at Sand Island, the Sand Island Military Reservation, the history of the name of Sand Island, the quarantine station at Sand Island, problems with the land deed, or land claims regarding Sand Island and related court cases after annexation. The memoranda also mentions Hawaiian land that came under the property of the United States, fishing rights, or fishing grounds surrounding Sand Island, related legislation under the Hawaiian monarchy, exhibits used in the memorandum, the Hawaiian Commission, and various orders related to Sand Island.
