Description

Scale approximately 1:2,000,000. 1 map ; 30 x 56 cm. Relief shown pictorially. Map originally drawn in 1709-1710 by Jean Baptiste, Pierre Jartoux, Xavier Ehrenbert Fridelli, and Guillaume Bonjour. Prime meridians: Paris and Peking [Beijing]. In cartouche: "This map ... in the year 1709 and impov'd by the editor, is inscrib'd to Mr. Peter Mallet." Three scale bars: li or Chinese furlongs in a degree; common French leagues; and English miles. Engravers: Emanuel Bowen, C. Moore, and G. Child.
