Abstract
Description
This folder contains a statement given by Senator Inouye as a vice-chairman of the Committee on Indian Affairs before the United South and Eastern tribes' annual impact week. He addresses how hard the tribal representatives have been working for Indian Country's legislative agenda for the 107th session of Congress. He encourages Native leaders to consider proposals that would lead to forming of policy or legislation for the rights of Native governments, self-determination, and self-governance. He also shares a few new initiatives.
