This folder contains a speech delivered at the Democratic Convention held at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel on May 27, 2000. Inouye recalls his time as a sophomore at UH and a member of the national political party and his first Democratic Party Convention. As senior leader of the party, he expresses concern for Hawai'i's minority party, recognizing its shortcomings and identifying core values of good leadership. There is also a draft of this speech.
