Abstract
Description
This folder contains a speech given by Senator Daniel K. Inouye for the 6th Annual Straub Conference. In the speech he covers his expectations for the future of healthcare, including increased reliance on non-physician health professionals, the integration of mental health in the medical care/treatment field, increased funding for preventative care, the increased need in the field of geriatrics, and proposals for public health initiatives. He also explains that the nation’s healthcare is solely supported by high costs, which is the root of the outcry from citizens. Thus, he covers his own drafted initiatives and future plans to address this problem.
