In this folder the history of legislation related to the issue of redress is examined, along with legislation related to the exclusion and relocation of those with Japanese ancestry. Various records related to the previous denial of redress payments to those who were relocated are also present, including personal stories from those who were interned on Sand Island, and those who had been discriminated against for being of Japanese ancestry. Also included are lists of those deemed ineligible for redress, lists of organizations who endorse redress for these people, material relating to potential means of funding the legislation, correspondence relating to who to place on the commission, and a bibliography of materials from the Library of Congress relating to Japanese internment which had been used for redress legislation.
