Philippine Revolutionary Papers, 1898-1900

This collection includes letters, military orders and official government programs and invitations during the Philippine Revolution (1896-1898) and the Philippine American War (1899-1902). Noted documents were authored by the first president of the Philippines Emilio Aguinaldo as well as Lieutenant Colonel Joaquin Natividad Alejandrino, who fought under General Manuel Tinio in the Greater Ilocos region. Most of the documents were written in Spanish and are accompanied with English translations. Three letters were written in Ilokano and are awaiting English translation. These documents offer a glimpse of civilian and military life in the Greater Ilocos region during the turn of the century.
