Abstract
As a Founder of HPS and a lifelong teacher, Auntie Nona Beamer anchored many of HPS’s early public programs. In 2005, HPS offered extensive programming in the 2nd Ka ʻAha Hula ʻO Hālauaola World Conference on Hula on Maui. While she was the “headliner” in this talk-story, she invited several hula friends to join her up front, including Kumu Uncle George Naope, Auntie Queenie Dowsett, haumana and fellow storyteller, Mauliola Cook, and her daughter-in law, Moanalani Beamer. All were there either attending and/or presenting at the hula conference.
