Abstract

Description

This folder contains documents that pertain to various members of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. One of the documents is a letter from Lester M. Goldsmith in which he expresses how he and his production company have to re-cut promotional film spots due to the tension caused by the Vietnam War. In particular he quotes Senator Proxmire in saying that the president is correct to “Vietnamese the Vietnam War” and has thus received heavy backlash and harsh criticism. There is also a list of people and their respective businesses that are directly related to or supportive of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Another document of importance is a detailed plan on how the Democratic Party will discuss and handle issues like problems with leadership, emergence of a Republican majority, the silent majority, the Democrats’ weaknesses, Republican weaknesses and how the Democratic Party will rise and return to form.
