Abstract
This poster documents the process of how a librarian, library school intern, and faculty at Windward Community College (a Hawaiian serving institution) worked together to create the Hawaiian base-language option for the LibGuides platform. It was created to support our community of Hawaiian speakers by making the structure of this library resource available in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (the Hawaiian language). It is one of only 17 language options in LibGuides and the only Pacific language. The poster demonstrates how the interface looks and explains how you can turn it on in your LibGuides account. Furthermore, it explores how the vocabulary list might be used for other library applications.
