In October 2013, I attended the annual Hawai‘i Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security Workshop on an invitation extended to HLA. A major theme of the workshop was the building of resilience within the community, by reaching out to businesses, institutions, and organizations without a traditional disaster response role and bringing them into the planning process. Please join me in a discussion of how libraries can help their communities before, during, and after a disaster.en_US
